Top 8 Singles April 1 – April 7 ft. Slum Village, MeRCY & ChanHays

With our Top 8 Singles list, we present the top 8 singles based on our staff picks.

This week our staff has chosen another 8 from April 1 – April 7. This week’s list is led by singles from Slum Village, MeRCY and ChanHays.

Slum Village ft. QTip – Hold Tight (Lost Remix)

Slum Village’s 20th Anniversary from the 1998 completion date of the phenomenal classic recording “Fantastic Vol. 2” reveals additional relics from the original trio T3, “Baatin” and Jay Dee.

MeRCY ft. Bishop – Premium Leather (prod. by Solidified)

MeRCY continues his musical onslaught with week 10 of The Everglades Sessions. MeRC’ features Bishop to once again rhyme about their propensity to be fresher than the competition. From a pure lyricism standpoint, this is the most exceptional record the tandem has released so far and is on par with other legendary lyrical exhibitions by a duo, such as Nas & AZ.

ChanHays ft. Fashawn & Von Pea – Behave

2017 was a huge year for ChanHays, as the Halifax Nova Scotia producer released his debut project,  Here, a project he released in October that was so chocked with impressive names that it’s too voluminous to list (Cool Kids, Roc Marciano, Conway, Homeboy Sandman, Elzhi, Skyzoo, Pharoahe Monch, Cormega, Masta Ace are just a few of the names).
