Guy Grams & The Prxspect Drop “War Medals” LP

Guy Grams & The Prxspect - War Medals (LP)

Guy Grams and The Prxspect release their new album titlted “War Medals.”

Baltimore real one Guy Grams returns with new project War Medals. Fully produced by Australia’s The Prxspect (Jamal Gasol, Ice Lord) the somber jazz instrumentals and snapping drums lend a potent backdrop for Gram’s rugged-n-raw delivery.

Speaking on significance of the project title Grams revealed “soldiers are supposed to be respected. They go into hostile terrain and fight for the rest of us but through history veterans just receives these superficial war medals and are left for dead with the results of taking the weight. I look at a lot of my peers as the unsung heroes who do a lot for keeping the real culture alive but get nothing for it but the scars.”

This feeling extends to guest stars on the project which includes B-more legend COMP who was signed to Def Jam in the early days of the millennium and featured on Ghostface Kiillah’s smash “Run” (which also featured Jadakiss). Speaking on the link he revealed “I’ve been running into COMP for years at local events and was in awe. I would tell him, you’re the man! I used to play you in the Def Jam Vendetta video game. He would also return the respect by saying, nah, you’re killing it, I never toured Europe or put out independent vinyl. He’s definitely a veteran that I respect and I wanted him to know that.”

Also appearing is frequent collaborator Raf Almighty (video for the single “Fear & Loathing” below) as well as Jay Royale, FullScale and DJ Grazzhoppa. Besides COMP other new collaborators for Grams on this project include J Scienide, Jamil Honesty, Mickey Diamond and Pro Dillinger.
