GI Releases New ‘Are We Here’ Instrumental

GI - Are We Here (instrumental)

GI started composing/producing music and writing songs at an early age. Shortly after, he was recruited by Lunitic, founder of Workin Class Records along with Costello, to form a group called Street Literature which consisted of Lunitic, 4Real, Costello, GI, and Dj Moschops. They were in the process of making their debut album when Lunitic tragically died in 2009. The album wasn’t released until 2010, the same weekend the group headlined with US supergroup Wu-Tang Clan, in Dublin. From there he has composed/produced numerous critically acclaimed albums and featured as an artist on many of those projects.

He has worked with various UK and US artists such as Tesla’s Ghost, Da Flyy Hooligan, Cyrus Malachi, Estee Nack, Purpose, Lord Willin, Maverick Sabre, just to name a few. In 2012 GI produced Lethal Dialects album LD50 II and Costello’s, Illosophical. Collectively GI’s catalogue of music, videos and live performances have been streamed over 1.2 million times on YouTube and over one million times on Bandcamp.

In 2015 his lung collapsed and twice more in 2016, which kept him away from live performances up until 2020. During this time off he kept busy under a different alias, Bobby Tuna; to explore different genres stemming from his love for house, drum and bass, breakbeat, techno and various other genres.

Now in 2024, GI returns to his Hip-Hop roots to release his new instrumental album “Brick Top” that will be released on Mad Good Records in conjunction with Workin Class Records for a Fall release. The 12-track project features that grimy underground sound that GI is best known for, Brick Top is a guaranteed banger of an album. Limited edition cassettes and CDs on Mad Good Records!
