Lil Wayne has confirmed the release date for “I Am Not A Human Being II” for February 19th, and is planning a year long international tour afterwards. He also says this album will be more “dark” than his previous work.
Many of his projects have been delayed for one reason or another much like his last mixtape Dedication 4. Combine this with his recent health concerns, and legal woes, it was unclear when Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being II would finally drop. Wayne has now confirmed a late February release date, and says he will tour after.
While speaking with MTV’s Sway Calloway, Wayne was clear “February 19, that’s the official date.” Once the album drops, he says he will go on a lengthy international tour, “”I’m gonna tour right after the album drops and I’m gonna tour all year round worldwide.”Â
Juicy J is still scheduled to provide music for this project. Lil Wayne says working with Juicy is a departure from his usual extremely radio/club friendly fare, and he’s excited about trying something experimental.
“Juicy J beats are dark, and I never rapped on dark music like that,” the Young Money artist explained, “my music was always bright — music for the club or for the radio, this music here is for us to like and us to like only, and I never put music out like that,” Weezy added, “the music that’s on this album is more so, like it or not.”
Lil Wayne did also add that his next full studio album, Tha Carter V will be his last, but it remains to be seen when this will drop, and if he will actually call it quits.
