Veteran Bronx rapper Tim Dog has died. The rapper best know for the single “F-ck Compton” succumbed to complications from diabetes.
It has been reported that Tim Dog, born Tim Blair, passed away yesterday (February 14) after suffering a seizure.
Tim Dog dropped his debut album, Penicillin on Wax, in 1991. The album featured the aforementioned “F-ck Compton,” an incendiary song aimed directly at Compton rap act N.W.A. which at the time included Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren and Ice Cube.
More recently, Tim Dog had relocated to Atlanta and was in the news for allegedly scamming women out of thousands of dollars. NBC’s Dateline ran a special spotlighting a few women that allegedly were conned out of their money by Blair. They all claimed that after courting them online, Blair would convince them to invest in a comeback album and a European tour that never manifested.
Back in 2011, Tim Dog plead guilty in Mississippi to grand larceny for racking up a 32,000 bill on Esther Pilgrim’s credit card build. Pilgrim was one of the women featured on Dateline. Since it was a plea deal, Tim Dog was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay Pilgrim back $19,000.
