Nas appears to be heading in the direction of Diddy, Jay-Z, and 50 Cent by diversifying his portfolio. We get word that he has announced a joint venture with Mass Appeal, an urban media company. It is said that Nas has invested a six-figures.
Nas is not the only hip hop artist to take part in this venture. Pusha T has also joined the team along with record label/creative agency DECON, and an international firm, White Owl Capital.
Mass Appeal was founded in 1996 and shut down in 2008, before being revived by the current team earlier this year.
Nas is said to be the associate publisher Mass Appeal’s online publication.
“While we embrace all things hip-hop (as it is part of our heart and soul), we stand for (and have always stood for) creative instigation,†said publisher Peter Bittenbender, who is also the CEO of DECON. “Music and its influence is such a massive part of our creative equity along with street art and fashion.â€
