SékouWrites Partners With Cadillac on

Author, journalist, former Uptown Magazine editor and founder of SimplyRides.com, SékouWrites, has expanded his automotive-lifestyle business with the launch of SimplyCadillac.com, a blog for African-American Cadillac owners and lovers.

SimplyCadillac.com is the newest addition to Dubbnet Networks, an assortment of automotive lifestyle websites tailored to audiences with unique interests.

“Of the various cars I’ve test driven, I always get a very strong man-on-the-street response to Cadillac,” says Sékou about his inspiration for the new site.  “Cadillac has very deep roots in the African-American community and I’m happy they trust us enough to represent their brand well.”
Sékou left Uptown in 2011 to create SimplyRides.com, which provides automotive videos, celebrity interviews, and test drive reviews in layman’s terms, providing car lovers with exciting content without the confusing technical jargon and “industry speak.” The newly unveiled SimplyCadillac.com offers similar lifestyle and automotive coverage targeted to Cadillac owners. For example, the site has a video section where celebrities like Spike Lee and Anthony Anderson have described their personal experiences with Cadillac on camera.

Some of the other websites within the Dubbnet network include SimplyRides.com, the network’s anchor site; BumperCandy.com, which delivers automotive and lifestyle stories to multicultural women; CelebrityTransit.com, which focuses on celebrities and their cars; and BucketlistWheels.com, which profiles vehicles that everyone should have on his or her bucket list.

The creation of SimplyCadillac.com was announced on August 26 at the 13th Annual Morrison Cape Cod Golf Tournament & White Party at Falmouth Country Club in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Created by Boston couple George and Janet Morrison out of their shared love of golf, the Tournament has been going strong for the past twelve years. For this, its 13th year, SimplyRides.com became an official co-sponsor along with Cadillac and the event was bigger and better than ever.

Not only was there a post-golf, catered white party with live jazz by Frank Wilkins & We Jazz Up, but also the event offered attendees the opportunity to test drive the 2013 Cadillac XTS and two lucky attendees (Eric Watson and Paul Glass) each won a one-week XTS loaner. The fun-filled event, which was attended by Boston-based influencers like radio host Carole Copeland Thomas and TheFabEmpire.com blogger Tiffany Probasco, also served as a fundraiser.  One-hundred percent of the donations collected at the event were given to Zion Union Heritage Museum, a local institution that celebrates the contribution of African-Americans to the development of Cape Cod. The open bar, after-party libations were provided by Iceberg Vodka, Cockspur Rum and Riazul Tequila.
