SxSw is obviously the biggest music festival, but many unprepared artists travel out there, from all over the world, misguided and most likely, they’ll miss opportunities. This year, Megann Lundquist all so known as Miss Megann, will be your guidance. Miss Megann has always been known for her excellent work in artist development, but this year her notoriety grew as she is now one of the official keynote speakers for this year’s festivals and she has quite a schedule.
Her activities will kick off on Wednesday March 14 at the SxSw “Industry Clout Report†located on 809 E. 6th Street from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. There she will be sharing her many experiences she embarked in this fierce music industry. The Clout Report is where an artist or representative can gain insight the proper way to make a solid name for yourself.
Following that she will be at 309 E. 6th Street during 7 p.m. – 2a.m at the “CEO Wednesday SxSw Edition.†There people will get a chance to hear all of her music business savvy and hear how she became the top consultant in Houston.
Thursday March 15, she will be speaking at the “Ultimate Networking Conference†where she will be teaching professional industry etiquette. She’ll tell us the proper way to approach people at different industry events. This will take place from 12 p.m. -3p.m. located at 222 E. 6th Street. Then right after will be her Official SxSw Industry/Kickback mixer where artists will have a chance to perform in front of a large crowd at the most iconic music festival in the United States.
Friday March 16 is one of the most exciting days for the iAssist team. Miss Megann will team up with Ms. Jesse Miller, also known the Harriett Tubman of New Music Industry, and they will both reveal secrets on how to monetize your music. The conference is titled “Are You in the Music Business or just Making Music.†That’ll be from 12 p.m- 2p.m on 222 E. 6th Street. Following the conference is the turn up! The “Welcome to the Land SxSw Edition†show. Numerous of Houston’s local talent will be performing including: Tha Natural, Young Blaze, Yung Al and many more. Also The Big Tho and Dj Eric Show will be stopping by from 4-6 pm. Then the night cap will be at the Landing Strip from 2 a.m- 5 a.m.
To close out all of the SxSw festivities, Ms Megann will be a part of the “Are you Made 4 it Hip-Hop Panel and Artists Showcase.â€
