The shoe was designed in the iconic “Chicago” Air Jordan 1 color way, reimagined by pulling in inspiration from the beloved traditions of the Kentucky Derby. Laser etched and hand-dyed red on veg tanned leather is a rose pattern, meant to embody the “Garland of Roses” that the winner of the derby receives.
The black hair-on calf leather was used to give the shoe a touch of “horse” or “pony” vibes. While the swooshes act as race horses themselves with the embroidered jockey sitting atop. White smooth leather was used to round out the popular color way in a clean and orderly way.
