Uncle Luke wants out of towners to stop all of the nonsense he’s hearing about DJ Khaled running Miami. The Miami rap legend took to Instagram with a video in which he sought to set the record straight about exactly who the day-one movers and shakers around his parts.
Papa Keith, Bo The Lover, Soul Syndicate, Soul Survivor DJ’s, Uncle Al…those are the guys who run Miami, says Luke. He threw the names out in response to having been told he needs to call Khaled. It was Khaled who if anything, has needed to call upon him for the opportunities that would eventually lead him to gain credibility and bring mainstream dominance back to the scene.
“My brother. This guy don’t run s**t down here neither. He just scream Miami out,” Luke said, after sharing that Khaled is actually a “settler” from New Orleans, who only wound up in Miami when his career didn’t jump off in Orlando. Luke says it was in fact, he, who initially put the We the Best label head on, when he brought him over to 99 Jamz after discovering him putting in work at Mix 96.
