MRG ft. Kevin Cruz – The Way It Goes

Bilingual Dominican-American rapper MRG‘s single “The Way It Goes” is an urbano party jam that documents the complex ins-and-outs of intimacy and romance. Featuring guest vocalist Kevin Cruz and produced by DJ Mostwanted (credited on Young MA‘s smash hit “Ooou”, etc.), the song is from MRG’s debut album Live From The Hurst 2. Today the official A1Vision directed music video, filmed in the festive Caribbean-themed setting of the Jupiter House in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood debuts on SpitFireHipHop.

“The song was inspired by a woman I was dating. We were intimate, but she’d just gotten out of a relationship, and wasn’t looking for anything serious. When you’ve been with someone for so long, sometimes it can seem like the grass looks greener on the other side, and she definitely wanted to play the field… I was just a rebound for her to get over her ex, but I eventually grew feelings for her. She realized how good of a catch I was after cutting me off, and wanted something more, especially after hearing the music I made. However, I had already moved on.” MRG
