Homeboy Sandman is continues to deliver with the release of “Alchemy,” his remarkable new video single. On “Alchemy,” the Homeboy Sandman demonstrates his lyrical prowess over Doubutsu System’s song Night Wind. Directed by Danny Sangra, the video single is taken from Homeboy Sandman’s forthcoming mixtape Nor Can These Be Sold (At Least By Me).
Discussing the “Alchemy” video single, Homeboy Sandman states:
“I wasn’t going to begin promoting Nor Can These Be Sold (At Least By Me) for at least another month or so but Danny Sangra had such a creative idea that once I saw the final product I had to release it as soon as possible. The opening line of the song “I turn a fire escape balcony, it’s alchemy” is inspired by my green thumbed wife who transformed our fire escape into such a beautiful garden / bird sanctuary that now we call it our balcony. The original song is “Night Wind” by Doubutsu System. Since my purchasing of the song on Bandcamp to rap over it Doubutsu and I have become friends and he’s as hyped about “Alchemy” as I am. Very grateful to have his blessing.”
With the release of “Alchemy,” Homeboy Sandman announces Nor Can These Be Sold (At Least by Me), the third installment of his acclaimed I Can’t Sell These mixtape series. On these mixtapes Homeboy Sandman raps over some of his favorite songs, film scores, & television intros; anything that he really loves and that moves him to write. The mixtapes have garnered critical attention from HotNewHipHop, Rock The Bells, Earmilk, among others.
Homeboy Sandman is fresh off the release of his studio LP Rich II and is planning more music to come before the end of the year. In addition to his forthcoming mixtape, fans can look forward to “Rich III” in the coming months.
