Open Late with Peter Rosenberg Is now on Complex.
Complex Networks is jumping into late night with Open Late with Peter Rosenberg, the first weekly late-night show for the hip-hop generation. Hosted by the multi-media host and Hot 97 staple Peter Rosenberg, the new series premiered Thursday, April 12 at 10 PM EST on Complex. The show will air weekly from New York in front of a live studio audience.
Known as one of the most outspoken radio personalities of the last 15 years in hip-hop and sports, Rosenberg has made headlines interviewing superstars from Jay Z to Mike Tyson. He’ll bring his unique perspective on topics ranging from pop culture to current events to “Open Late.”
“I’m so excited to partner with Complex on this new venture! This is a show based on my passion for music, culture, and politics that recognizes the diverse interests of the generation raised on Snoop Dogg and Outkast alongside the generation raised on Kendrick Lamar and J Cole,” said Rosenberg.
“This is a really big deal for us,” says Complex GM of Content Jack Erwin. “Over the past few years we’ve developed a slate of programming that hits so many touch points in contemporary culture, in the formats best suited to really explore the things we love, and late night is a natural next frontier. There isn’t a late night show that talks directly to our culture the way that Complex and Peter can, so there’s no doubt that this will be something completely unique.”
Drawing inspiration from the classic late-night tradition, “Open Late” will bring together the most influential newsmakers and celebrities from Complex’s world and will include exclusive musical performances throughout the season. The inaugural 12 episodes will be presented by Boost Mobile.
The new series expands on a growing lineup of digital series on Complex including “Sneaker Shopping,” “Complex Closets,” “Complex Cover,” “The Blueprint” and “Everyday Struggle.”
