Conway The Machine definitely put his mark on 2020. Collaborative projects with Alchemist (LULU). Big Ghost Ltd (No One Mourns The Wicked) were critic and fan favorites and he contributed guest appearances on numerous high profile projects.
But it wasn’t until his recently released masterpiece, From King To A GOD, when Conway The Machine’s metamorphosis became complete, and with that ascension he asserted that he would no longer be denied his rightful place as a “God Emcee.â€Â
From King To A GOD is Conway’s most diverse project to date and it featured guest appearances and production from Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Freddie Gibbs, Method Man, DJ Premier, Havoc, Lloyd Banks, Dej Loaf, Alchemist, Daringer, Erick Sermon and Hit-Boy.
The universally hailed project has already received “Best Album Of The Year†accolades from influential outlets such as the New York Times, Complex, Pitchfork, Noisey, Hotnewhiphop & Uproxx with surely more to come. Conway also clocked in at #2 on B-Dot’s Annual “Best Rappers Of 2020” List. Conway and Griselda’s 2020 was so epic, they took up acreage on Jay-Z’s Yearly Tidal Playlist and Stereogum had to create an entirely separate year end playlist just to chronicle Griselda’s dominant 2020.
Now, Conway circles back to From King To A GOD with the announcement of a new Deluxe Edition of the project. The FKTG Deluxe features five new tracks, with appearances and production from Daringer, 9th Wonder, Roc Marciano, Hit-Maka, Cardiak and Conway introduces his new Drumwork Label artists 7xvethegenius and Jay Skeese.Â
