Suave is back with this new single titled “Hard Grind (NOLA).”
In some ways, Suave‘s “Hard Grind“, his recently released single featuring fellow NOLA native Melaphyre, is both an ode to New Orleans’ historical musical contributions and an indictment of a social and political climate that has made the city increasingly difficult to navigate as a professional artist.
Like many of the nation’s rapidly gentrifying urban centers, The Big Easy is in danger of losing core elements of it’s magnetic and enchanting culture thanks to low wages, high costs of living and new codes that penalize culture bearers for disturbing the city’s growing population of affluent transplants.
