iLLPHONiCS ft. Lena Charlie – What D’ Ya Like

iLLPHONiCS debuts on SpitFireHipHop with this new single titled “What D’ Ya Like.”

St. Louis based hip-hop/soul fusion band iLLPHONiCS has unveiled a new single entitled “What D’ Ya Like” featuring Lena Charlie. The first track released from their forthcoming album Gone With The Trends, out on April 1st on The Record Machine. The track premiered yesterday exclusively at DJ Booth, who calls it “genre-bending.”

The five-piece Missouri natives are celebrating their 10th anniversary as a collective. Recently, the band signed with Kansas City-based label The Record Machine to release their first studio album since 2013’s self-titled effort – their fifth since their inception in 2006. The album is an ode to how wrapped up society has become in social media and Internet trends. As a testament to this theory, iLLPHONiCS have devised the Seven Deadly Trends as a means of ramping up excitement leading up to the album release. These trends include, among others, Egocentrism, Materialism, and Idolization. Altogether, the album boasts songs about love, having a good time, and even politics. Notably, on the soulful track “Sweet Missouri”, the band collaborated with St. Louis vocal artist Kristeen Young and legendary David Bowie producer Tony Visconti.
