Amid today’s racial tension comes a powerful song by an artist that traverses sometimes opposing worlds. Nomad Carlos – a Miami-born but Kingston-raised, New York-based rapper, has released “Black & White,” a record in which he embraces his mixed heritage and denounces racism, all while being clever, over his producer Sosa’s hard-hitting mid-tempo drums.
Nomad Carlos’ first verse plays on the color black and echoes some of the #BlackLivesMatter sentiments while his second verse tackles the color white and speaks directly to his own diverse ancestry.
