With his sophomore album ‘514’ on the horizon, Los Angeles recording artist, Lil Boii Kantu, releases his highly anticipated single, “Where I’m From” featuring Atlantic Records’ artist, Kap G.
Sampling ’60s hit “California Dreamin,” producers WAV and Hazy Baby lay a bass heavy soundscape, as Lil Boii Kantu and Kap G reflect on life in their respective hometowns, trading melodic rhymes.
“When I first heard the record kap g had already laid down the hook on the song so that set the tone and really inspired me. My favorite line of the song is ‘Ive dealt with destruction and pardoned my past, balanced the bullshit that came with the laughs.’
Which references adversities that I face as a upcoming artist and people wanting to see me fail, but getting over that and Releasing all negative energy and refusing to be held down by it,” Lil Boii Kantu shares with us.
