Saga Releases New Single, “1,000 Yard Stare”

Saga - 1,000 Yard Stare

Brooklyn emcee / producer Saga (Marco Polo, Skizz) has dropped a new track this morning entitled “1000 Yard Stare.” The darkly hewn and introspective track is to appear on new EP Wisdom Wears The Crown (to drop via Soulspazm on 11/19). It is available as an instant grat with the project pre-order (link below).

According to the artist the introspective EP was completely inspired by “frustration and anger” felt during the turmoil of current events and is an exercise in critical thinking and questioning motives. He also leans heavily into addressing the shifting cultural norms that he is seeing among his city and loved one’s.

This seven-song offering serves as a quick sonic appetizer to his forthcoming full-length Guttersnipe. Dropping on 12/10, Guttersnipe boasts an impressive guest list of spitters including Eddie Kaine, Jamal Gasol, Masta Ace and Ruste Juxx.

Unlike Wisdom Wears The Crown which was created during an intense two-week period during lockdown, Guttersnipe is more varied in vibe and was slowly crafted beginning work pre-pandemic. As such it’s derived from a different part of the artists creativity, with topics including addressing the birth of his son, dealing with opps and life in general.

Returning with two fully developed offerings for the mind, Saga makes music for the heads that appreciate thought provoking lyricism over 90’s era inspired hip-hop.
