Daemon Marries Golden-Era Hip-Hop With Trailblazing Spirit On ‘Vader’

Daemon - Vader

Daemon drops off his latest in the way of his “Vader” lyric video.

St. Louis-based rapper Daemon presents “Vader,” his new single produced by Grills. Daemon marries a golden-era hip-hop pedigree with a trailblazing spirit, routinely weaving genres as disparate as EDM, trap and grunge into the mix. Daemon has collaborated with artists like Killer Mike, DJ Shadow and Trackstar The DJ of Run The Jewels, who contributes cuts to “Vader”.

2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders used Daemon’s song “Feel Good” (Spotify) for his walk-out music for a TV interview. Daemon’s work has been featured on Netflix (“Inventing Anna,” “Daybreak,” and “Work It”), FOX (“Ghosted”), Starz (“Power”), ads for Mini Cooper and Sephora, and TBS (on the Jordan Peele produced “The Last O.G.”).

His track “Turn the World Around” was featured in Xbox exclusive Forza Horizon 5. “‘Vader’ started as a freestyle until the producer, Grills, thought it could be more,” Daemon says. “I wanted to speak with love and care about the struggles I have with my city and the struggles folks in my city have to go through simultaneously. The dark and the light are all connected.”
