Ken-C and Kidd Called Quest gives us a true Hip-Hop feel good song with “Never Give You Up.”
St. Paul, MN emcee Ken-C returns with new single “Never Give You Up” this morning. Reuniting with Rochester, NY producer Kidd Called Quest (Pretty Bulli, Jae Hussle) this is a personal homage to hip-hop. Over a lush instrumental, replete with horns and soulful vocals Ken-C runs through his personal connection to the culture, the artists who inspired him and his own struggles and triumphs.
“Never Give You Up” is the second track pairing Ken-C and Kidd as their other joint “Vanilla Ice” recently dropped.
Both tracks will appear on the duo’s forthcoming collaborative album, to be titled The Kendrick Cole Project.
Ken-C has been releasing music over the past decade with a massive back catalog (available via Bandcamp). Kidd Called Quest in addition to his work as part of the duo Young Black And Gifted (with emcee Azariah) has been dropping soulful boom-bap work with such notables as Big Shug, Kool G. Rap, Pretty Bulli, Jae Hussle, Curtis Coke and many more.
