Digital Underground Star Shock G Dies At Age 57

Rap star Shock G, who was the lead of hip-hop group Digital Underground has died at the age of 57.

Gregory “Shock G” Jacobs has passed away at the age of 57. His passing is the third in the Hip-Hop community following the passing of fellow rap stars DMX and Black Rob earlier this month. It is being reported that Shock G was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa on Thursday. The cause of death is currently unknown and the star’s father says authorities will conduct an autopsy.

Shock G, was best known for being lead singer of the pioneering hip-hop group Digital Underground. Jacobs also was known Humpty Hump, and was a rapper and keyboardist who was responsible for a number of influential tracks. His tracks included Digital Underground’s Doowutchyalike and the group’s hit single The Humpty Dance, which he performed as his alter ego.
