ATX's Own Honey Made To Headline DIY Conference Showcase

Honey Made to headline upcoming showcase.

The Austin-based funk and soul band Honey Made are due to headline YouTube Presents: DIY Musicians Showcase on August 27th, taking place at Empire Control Room & Garage. Check out the band’s Facebook Event Page for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/5378492592237109

The headlining event brings the band center stage for a hometown show, in connection with one of the leading platforms for indie artists and cementing Honey Made as this year’s must see band!

Honey Made is a nine piece band, and an Austin, TX staple. They have uniquely honed their sound both on stage while on tour with various iterations of the band before coming upon the final sonic signature for Honey Made. Their witty songwriting and groovin’ compositions have cultivated accolades from critics and fans alike and garnered the attention of Steve Berlin who produced their new album Brand New.

Honey Made consists of Willie Barnes II, Vocals; Donald R Ford Jr., Vocals; Brian Cokeley, Keys; Lee Braverman, Bass; Chris Barnes, Drums and Vocals; Mark Saldana, Percussion; Dustin Hunter, Tenor Saxophone and Baritone Saxophone; Joseph Morrow, Trumpet and Flugelhorn; and Donald McDaniel, Trombone. Together, their throwback sound recalls the likeness of soul legends James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, and Earth Wind and Fire and adds a modern take on slamming primal soul fused with their R&B roots.

Honey Made came together over five years ago honing their classic sound on stage both locally and nationally. They have become known as one of the best live bands and party bands in Austin, TX and blew audiences away with their SXSW Show where they performed in support of Tomar and The FCs! Additionally, they have supported acts like New Orleans’ Soul Rebels and Augusta, GA’s own Funk You – to name a few.
