John D. Tucker hosts private screening of new film.

John D. Tucker aka “Dr. Teeth” has found tremendous success in the world of music video directing, producing and in helping develop a strong hip hop music scene here in Houston, Texas. Now he’s ready to bring his talent and experience to narrative filmmaking with the Houston debut of his French new wave, dark comedy short PAS HONTEUX. Tucker is hosting a French-themed private Houston screening presented by Courvoisier on Monday, August 22nd at Bar 5015, to celebrate the collaboration of Jean-Luc Godard and Francios Truffaut’s French New Wave techniques and modern hip hop culture.

PAS HONTEUX is the story of a young African American slacker that wakes up one day speaking French, after drinking a bottle of Courvoisier. It’s farcical, humorous, and thought provoking. We not only judge people by their looks but also by the way they speak. So, what if a young urban African American suddenly speaks French? The film must be seen to be believed. It jumps from modern hip hop inspired visuals to high contrast French new wave bringing new meaning to both styles of filmmaking.

The film stars Travis LaBranch (SHOTS FIRED), Leon Lamar (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks, American Made), and Javicia Leslie (Batwoman, Carl Webber The Family Business, God Friended Me, Always a Bridesmaid, MacGyver, Killer Coach), is written by Sundance Alum Marcus J. Guillory (Film Gully, Law & Order Organized Crime, Empire, Marvel Cloke & Dagger, The Breaks, Tales), and directed by John D. Tucker.

PAS HONTEAUX Director, Dr. Teeth, previously won an NAACP Image Award for his work as a segment Producer for The BET Networks children’s television program called TEEN SUMMIT. He has also been nominated for MTV’s VMA Awards in the Viewer’s Choice Category for the music video “Still Tippin” by Mike Jones. Other nominations include a BET Hip Hop Award for Director of the Year, OZONE Magazine Awards nomination for Director of the Year for the video “HIP HOP SAVED MY LIFE” by Lupe Fiasco, BET Hip Hop Awards Best Video of the Year nomination for ICE CREAM PAINT JOB by Dorrough. Dr. Teeth has also worked with Pitbull, Lil’ Wayne, Notorious BIG, Ludacris, and the rock band Kings X. For more information, please contact La’Torria Lemon at press@lemonlimelightmedia.com.
