T.I. Receives Prestigious Phoenix Award From City of Atlanta & Mayor Andre Dickens

Rapper, actor, and philanthropist T.I. was joined on stage by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Senator Raphael Warnock, and Phillana Williams at his closing symphony performance on Friday (December 29, 2023) at Atlanta Symphony Hall, after selling out both nights with the Atlanta Pops. His symphony performance closed out celebrations for the 20th Anniversary of “Trap Muzik”. This is the highest award one can receive from the City of Atlanta, for his acts of service this past year as well as his entertainment contributions. These acts include opening up 140+ units of low-income housing in Bankhead with Intrada Westside, his 18th annual turkey drive through his non-profit Harris Community Works/Us or Else, his Harris community Works annual holiday caravans at the Atlanta Mission, Project Pinnacle, and Next Level Boys Academy, and more!

This past year he cut the ribbon on his 140+ units of low-income housing in his Bankhead neighborhood of Atlanta for Intrada Westside, celebrated the 18th year of his annual turkey drive giving out over 1000 turkeys, and had 3 holiday drives with the Atlanta Mission, Project Pinnacle, and Next Level Boys Academy for his non-profits Us or Else and Harris Community Works. 2023 also celebrated the 20th anniversary of his album “Trap Muzik”, which spurred a popular sub-genre of Hip-Hop, Trap Music. Artists that have followed in this sub-genre include Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Future, Migos, 21 Savage, and more.

The award was presented to T.I. on the final night of his two shows last Thursday and Friday with the Atlanta Pops, at Atlanta Symphony Hall. Footage of these shows went viral when his daughter Heiress stole the show, performing “Live Your Life” alongside her Pops.
