Aimé Leon Dore, the endlessly cool New York City-based label founded by Teddy Santis, bends men’s genre by forcefully exemplifying what streetwear should look like and how good menswear doesn’t have to take itself so seriously.
Leaning sharply into traditional men’s fashion with a heavy sporting influence — as seen through its in-house Sonny New York hoops label — Aimé, for several seasons now, has produced Bespoke Air Force 1s to further accentuate the influence classic basketball silhouettes have on its brands’ premise. Santis, this year, has crafted his best pair yet.
What makes Aimé special is widely available for viewing with this edition of Bruce Kilgore’s famed design. While the entire men’s fashion industry is producing cozy fleeces similar to those that Patagonia has made for decades, Aimé, in contrast, employs a variation of this on-trend material for its ongoing Air Force 1 project.
Utilizing a pinwheel of color positioned in space to stand singularly, compartmentalized shades embolden this fuzzy Air Force 1 including a vibrant Hunter Green panel and an Oxblood flooded heel. Branding, both elegant and muted, is simply stamped at the tongue in one of the brand’s signature fonts.
At this time it’s unclear if the Aimé Leon Dore x Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke will be available for purchase. Past editions have been seen in the wild yet in very limited numbers. But if any Air Force 1 should release to close the year, it should certainly be this one.
