La Coka Nostra – Dark Day Road

La Coka Nostra drops off the new video for “Dark Day Road”.

The members of La Coka Nostra have collectively been delivering quality hardcore Hip-Hop music for 25-years now and with To Thine Own Self Be True they return re-invigorated exhibited by a standout new album and a relentless touring schedule (after just wrapping up the Canadian leg, the group is now in route to Europe). “To Thine Own Self Be True; the battle-cry for La Coka Nostra from here on out” Danny Boy lamented. “It’s only onward and upward from here.”

To cap off the release of the new album (which is currently in the top 10 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart), La Coka releases a dark and graphic new visual for “Dark Day Road,” which finds Slaine holed up in a hotel room with enough narcotics to…well, you’ll see. The “Dark Day Road” video was directed by Bernard Rose, who is most famous for directing the cult-classic Candyman, Frankenstein and Immortal Beloved.  Before he transitioned to the big screen, Rose started in the music video medium, as he directed the controversial and now banned video for Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s “Relax” (it was deemed to “sexually progressive”) & UB40’s “Red Red Wine.”  Slaine inspired him to return to the short narrative form with “Dark Day Road.”
