J French releases ‘God Given’ a tribute to 2Pac.
June 16, 2018 marks what would have been Tupac‘s 47th birthday. As one of many beneficiaries of the rapper’s legacy, Oklahoma City hip hop luminary J French pays tribute to his fallen hero with a heartfelt open letter, and a lyric video for “God-Given,” premiered today by Billboard.
“I decided to do a tribute to Tupac because I’ve as always been inspired by him since I was a child, and felt I’ve shared the same struggle when it comes social progression. His birthday is two days before mine, and he is a Gemini just like me. I hear his voice and feel like I’m listening to myself speak sometimes.” -Â J French
