In perhaps the greatest hip-hop heist duo since Camp Lo, west coast emcee Planet Asia and east coast turntablist Jay-Ef join forces. New single “Waterfront” (Produced by IzzNyce) is out now for digital purchase/stream and gives you an idea of the deft cuts and lyrical barrage in store. Friends for over twenty years, the duo first linked up in 2000 when Jay-Ef caught wind of this up-and-coming emcee from California and decided to bring him over to record a single with Talib Kweli (“Don’t Let Up”) for his Mona Records label. That trip being Asia’s first trip to the Big Apple. Most recently Asia returned the favor appearing on a track for Jay-Ef’s debut EP Believe It Or Not (2021).
