T.I. and his son Domani share their stories in “Family Connect” video.
Today the Harris family delivers what their fans have been asking for, the music video for “Family Connect.” With the penmanship provided by T.I. and his son Domani, and production provided by Tip’s son Messiah. This is from the clip that went viral back in October of Tip and Domani on stage at Afropunk in Atlanta.
But due to a grueling filming schedule for Tip, and a US tour for Domani as part of D Smoke’s “War & Wonders” tour, the pair hadn’t had found time to set aside to knock this out. But now with them having found a brief period of free time, they were able to connect with BLE Studios and Co-Directors TI and Philly Fly Boy to knock out the video.
The single was part of Tip’s latest studio album “The L.I.B.R.A” (The Legend Is Back Running Atlanta) released in October 2020. Featured on this project was “Pardon” (ft. Lil Baby) which broke into the top 20 at urban radio and was trending in the top 3 on YouTube, “Ring” (ft. Young Thug), and more. Ultimately this album had much fanfare and peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Independent Album chart, and is still spoken about today.

When speaking about this record “Family Connect” specifically, Tip says, “Working with your children musically tops any feature I’ve ever done, because this is my blood, and they both did their thang on it making me a proud pops.”
The pair recently were at SXSW in Austin, TX celebrating Domani’s 21st birthday on Weds, and surprised attendees at Just Blaze’s showcase at Native Hostel with a performance of this song. They wrapped up the night with Just Blaze, who produced one of TI’s biggest records “Live Your Life” (ft. Rihanna), bringing out a birthday cake for Domani and everyone in the crowd singing happy birthday. What a way to ring in your 21st birthday, doing something you love with two legends and your family on stage!
