SWXM & Quavo Release New ‘SWIM’ Visual

SWXM & Quavo - SWIM Video

SWXM and Quavo connect in the video for “SWIM.”

Queens rapper SWXM today releases his single “SWIM” featuring Quavo, as well as the music video!  This single is overperforming on DSP’s with over 100k+ streams since releasing at midnight.  He’s also received support through radio in the South already, as well as Sirius XM’s Hip Hop Nation.  On the playlisting side, he received a cover on Tidal, over 2 dozen station adds on Pandora, and support across Apple Music + Spotify.  Currently on Spotify, this song is listed as Quavo’s #1 most popular song.

Fans have reacted favorably to this single on Worldstar’s YouTube comments, which is an anomaly for a fairly new artist that has a feature.  But this feature came organically, through a mutual friend between Quavo and SWXM.  He listened to the song and told SWXM, “Quavo would be dope on this”.  And sure enough, SWXM received it a week later in his inbox.  From there they shot the video in both Long Island and Atlanta, directed by Street Heat TV.

This song is about treading water, and staying afloat no matter what adversity and obstacles life throws at you.  Both artists have had heavy hearts, through both the unfortunate passing of Takeoff, and SWXM losing his mother the day prior to the pandemic being officially declared in 2020.

From there SWXM started taking music more seriously as a form of therapy.  He takes inspiration from a lot of R&B artists, primarily Tracy Chapman.  In high school, SWXM was a standout athlete in Queens, NY for basketball.  He won a station championship, broke a ton of records, received college offers, and his high school in Long Island City retired his jersey number after transferring.

For the moment the current plan is to go all out in promotion of “SWIM” featuring Quavo, with hopes of SWXM hitting the road in the near future.  Also, expect a line of merch to be dropped soon!  “Never stop, and keep swimming!,” SWXM shares.
