DK & Ghettosocks share their new single “What It Seems” featuring Skyzoo and Rome Streets.
Fresh off the release of his impressive sophomore album “This is Me” with Justo the MC, Nova Scotia-based producer DK teams up with Ghettosocks, who was included by CBC on their definitive list of the “Top 25 Canadian Rappers of All Time” connect for a new album set to feature numerous underground heavyweights.
In the fall of 2019, the duo released the track “Reflections,” which gained extensive praise from fans and followers for DK’s warm, soulful production and Ghettosocks’ dense, multi-layered lyricism.
DK & Ghettosocks are thrilled to announce their first track for 2022, titled “What It Seems” from their collaborative album titled Listen to the Masters, out on May 20th via Black Buffalo Records and Fat Beats.
“What It Seems” provides soulful vibes while melodic strings dance over a funky beat as Ghettosocks, Skyzoo and Rome Streetz pull back the curtain on life and shed light on the current state of politics, social economics, crime, poverty and injustice. The result is a track that’s less about life being a bitch and more about how life is like a never-ending game of chess — and the ones that win are the ones that never stop making moves.
