Garrett Grhymes debuts on SpitFireHipHop with this new single called “Wide Awake”.

Wide Awake is the lead single from Garrett Grhymes‘ debut EP of the same title. Garrett is set to release his debut EP “Wide Awake” in January of 2017, and if this song is any indication, we are in for an awakening indeed. Mostly self-produced, Garrett has been working on this release for the last 2 years, and is finally ready to share his one-of-a-kind sound with the world.

Known for his versatility, Garrett doesn’t pigeonhole himself with one or two styles. Having been influenced by many artists, and through the many different cultural backgrounds he’s experienced, Garrett has developed a wide range of vocal and musical styles.

Blending 90’s west coast, the art of storytelling, new school bass heavy instrumentals, and using his blend of both soulful singing vocals and raspy, gritty rap lyrics, Garrett is creating his own genre of music where anything goes, and nothing is outside of his realm of creation.

Hailing from Vancouver BC, Canada, Grhymes has been touring the local music scene and western Canada for the last few years, even spending some time living and composing in Austin TX. Having performed opening for acts such as Sean Price (RIP), Choclair, N.O.R.E., and also festivals in BC such as Shambhala and U4EEYA, Grhymes has certainly been putting his grind in on the underground circuit.
