New York Sports Intelligence Company Sports Garten Places Nation’s First Legal Sports Bet

New York Sports Intelligence Company, Sports Garten has placed the nation’s first legal sports bet at Delaware Park Raceway and Casino. The bet was placed at 1:30:01, on June 5, for $1,020 on 5:1 for the New York Yankees to win the 2018 World Series.

Sports betting was launched on Tuesday in Delaware, three weeks after the Supreme Court permitted for states to legalize the practice in May.  Gambling officials in Delaware have permitted gambling on professional baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, golf, and auto racing. It is expected that Delaware has paved the way for other states to legalize, like New Jersey, who is currently considering legislation to legalize betting in the State Legislature.

Sports Garten, founded by two New Yorkers is an organization dedicated to sports intelligence. President and CEO of the company, Gary Pollakusky, and Managing Partner & Lead Handicapper Tom Barton, have formed a website, an LLC, and will immediately serve as a regional leader for sports handicapping. Tom Barton, a multiple time handicapping champion, known as “The Honest Handicapper,” is a radio host for Fox Sports Las Vegas and The Sports Wagering Zone. Barton and Pollakusky, both Long Island residents, intend on being on the forefront of the sports betting industry.

According to a report by Oxford Economics on the economic impact of sports betting, legalization could result in the creation of over 400,000 jobs and generate billions in tax revenue. More information on Sports Garten is available at www.SportsGarten.com
